Job description

About the Role

We’re hiring a Developer Relations Intern to help grow and engage Soda’s technical community. You’ll work closely with the founding team, engineering, and growth to build open-source projects, create high-quality content, and be an active presence in the data and observability ecosystem. Your work will make it easier for data and ML engineers to adopt Soda, learn from community use cases, and contribute back. This role is a mix of coding, writing, advocacy, and community-building. If successful, we expect you to grow into a full-time DevRel, Developer Advocate, or Technical Product role.

This week is Soda’s first Launch Week. We are launching new features every single day this week. To standout for this internship, contribute meaningfully to launch week, we will notice. Learn more at launch.soda.io

Responsibilities

You’ll be hands-on across DevRel and community activities, including:

  • Build open-source projects and example repos that showcase Soda’s products

  • Write clear, technically accurate content:

    • Tutorials, guides, walkthroughs, engineering blog posts

    • Integration how-tos and community success stories

  • Speak with users and help them solve technical problems

    • Answer questions in Slack, GitHub, and forums

    • Triage issues, gather feedback, and bring it back to the team

  • Present in community calls, webinars, and conferences

  • Collaborate with product and engineering to improve the developer experience

  • Help grow and nurture our open-source contributor base

About Soda

Soda helps customers detect, resolve, and prevent data quality issues by combining automated post-production monitoring with pre-production pipeline data testing. We enable Data Engineers to effectively own DQ by “shifting left” the data quality initiatives from business to engineering.

Soda was founded in 2019 by Maarten, an employee #5 in Collibra, where he worked in Go-To-Market leadership, and Tom, who launched multiple OSS projects that generated 100s Million in value. Together, they built a tool that ensures data quality across Data Engineering, Data Governance, and business use cases.

Soda’s product offering consists of an open-source project called Soda Core, which is used by companies like Tesla, Slack, Adyen, Walmart, and JPMC. Soda commercializes its software through the Soda Cloud product. We're well-funded, with investors like Point 9 Capital, Hummingbird, Singular, and Eurazeo.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the Data Quality software used by Data Engineers for the decades to come.

Our Values

We value freedom with responsibility, transparency, and a growth mindset. We dislike politics and bullshit and value open and direct communication without judgment. We proactively bring up and address potential issues before they become critical and overcommunicate frequently. Working at Soda, you will have full autonomy to make impactful product and roadmap decisions and prioritize and organize your work how you see fit.
